Session #4: Industry News - The Future of Cloud Computing
Article name + Author:
"Eight Emerging Trends Shaping The Future Of Cloud Computing" by Nicola Sfondrini
Article link:
What’s it about?
The article explores eight key trends that are shaping the future of cloud computing, including serverless computing (no need to manage servers), quantum cloud computing (combining quantum computing and cloud computing), and how AI is being used to run cloud systems more efficiently. It’s a great introduction for anyone curious about how cloud tech will evolve in the next few years, and for students, this article could introduce new areas in tech that you might be interested in exploring!
One key takeaway:
The integration of AI into cloud management is also changing how cloud resources are optimized. AI now helps manage cloud systems by automating tasks like security, monitoring, and resource use. This could lead to more efficient and intelligent cloud infrastructures.
One question it left me with:
As students interested in tech, how can we gain hands-on experience with emerging tools—especially newer ones like quantum cloud platforms or AI-driven automation? What are some opportunities for students interested in this field? Share with us your thoughts and any interesting experiences you’ve had working with these tools!

Great insights! I took a read-through and found hybrid multi-clouding to be really interesting. Allowing security of information within private cloud while allowing scalability by public cloud seems like a great solution. Furthermore, its structure allows for better disaster recovery. One thing I am curious on is how the complexity of such systems is planned to be tackled and managed on a large scale.
