Individual drivers

When using a USB to deploy (restore) and image on to a laptop, we are able to include Driver CAB packages.

However, these are often quite a few months out of date and we have often needed more up to date wifi and trackpad drivers in order to address issues.

Is it possible to also include these or to somehow include them in the CABs?

In particular we need the one that can be found at http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/DriversDetails?productCode=xps-13-9333&driverId=2HRKP

Thanks

Phil -

We typically release our driver cabs on a block schedule, which for some platforms takes longer than others.  If an immediate need is required to update a driver for local deployment, you can include a “C:\Out-of-Box Drivers” on your image with the drivers extracted to that folder.  The older driver will be injected from the Family cab during deployment, but any newer ones you add to that directory should take precedence.

Hi Phil - are you referring to the single or family CABs?

Family.

I tried single ones but they didn't work so I'm using the XPS1 Notebook A02 at the moment.

Also, if I ship the image to Dell so it gets put on at the factory do you inject the latest CAB drivers or the latest individual drivers?

Will I be able to test this using a USB deploy here or is it something done "at the factory" only

You can test there using USB restore.  The folder I mentioned needs to exist in your image however.
