Image Assist: Installing Windows updates, offline.

Steps for Applying Servicing Stack and Quality Updates:

  1. Download Updates:

    • On an internet-connected system, visit the Microsoft Update Catalog.
    • Search for the specific updates you need (e.g., Servicing Stack Updates, Cumulative Updates).
    • Download the update files (usually in .msu format).
  2. Transfer Updates:

    • Transfer the downloaded update files to the offline system using a USB drive or network share.
  3. Install Updates:

    • On the offline system, open Command Prompt as an administrator.
    • Navigate to the directory where the update files are located.
    • Run the following command to install each update:
      wusa.exe updatefile.msu /quiet /norestart
Replace updatefile.msu with the actual file name of the update.
  4. Restart System:

    • After installing the updates, restart the system to complete the installation process.
  5. Finalize:
    • Clean up files, take a new snapshot, and re-capture using Image Assist.
