E5450 errors in Event Viewer
Hello all,
Getting a bunch of errors in Event Viewer with a simple win7 cfi install and using the family cab driver linked in Dell Image Assist driver matrix: downloads.delltechcenter.com/.../win7_latitudee6_a11.cab
I did have a couple of BSOD on the new 5450 system right after imaging it and those errors appearing as well. BSOD not happening now after another reinstall. Same image on other Dell models we have here don't have the Event Viewer driver errors you can see in the attached image:
Perhaps I got a bum 5450. It came with an SSD, if that changes anything.
Anyone else got those? If so, will we get all such E5450 systems delivered with the those errors? Seems like a simple driver update in the injected drivers should fix it if it isnt a particular issue with the system I got to test.
Edit: Just checked with other E5450's being tested by other IT personnel here and they all have those errors. Laptops work fine, so they don't seem like critical errors or showstoppers. But they do look ugly on new systems.
Cheers.

Intel Dynamic Platform & Thermal Framework Driver generates the error.
Downloaded driver from E5450 latest chipset drivers for this device and error went away.
Strangely it was same version as injected driver from cabs. Problem with driver injection I suppose.

Hello,
To resolve the bluescreen, please install the last Firmware Hynix Version 20002L00s A01
The Houstons CAB file will be updated and released by 10th May 2016.
Best regards,

Hello,
I resolved it post OS install with regular driver install from Dell support laptop drivers page. Can be injected as well I imagine. Waiting for family CAB with updated driver. Haven't tried new packs since then.

Good afternoon,
I have the same problem with Latitude E7250 / E7450 / E5550.
Do you manage to solve it during OSD?
Regards,
Chris

Hello QADAus & Chris Pat ,
Our cab developers are aware of this and are in the process of looking for a solution.
Thank you for the post.

The current posted CAB still poses problems - verified this week with two separate Latitude E6450 systems. Is another CAB going to be made available to allow for a smooth deployment in the series?

Hello Dell, E5450 issues with DPTF are causing bluescreens because of this bad .cab. Do not you think that you should remove the .cab until you have this fixed? Hynix disks SSD are so bad and DPTF and firmware ar caming to this model in a very surprised way.

The DPTF issue is known as event viewer errors only, but has not caused any BSOD’s. The newer DPTF driver which fixes the event viewer errors was received in January. Per our normal development cycle, the updated driver will be included in the family packs in our March release.

Dear Tyler,
sorry but you are wrong,
i have more than 100 e5450 with BSOD when i try to update DPTF drivers. This is so bad that we need to suspend bitlocker, restart in safe mode and manually uninstall them. After we restart normally and all goes ok.
About Hynix SC210 with this DPTF big issue we have the final cocktail to a bad experience and all Dell support asks us to format the machines already in use by the end users. What do you think?
You are available to help me after open a support cal or not?
Thank You!

Hi guilherme.martins
In our tests in development, we have been unable to reproduce BSOD and have only seen event viewer errors. I'd like to reach out to you for more information. Can you please email send an email to abu_image_services_requests@dell.com with your contact information?
Thank you,
Tyler
