Driver Packs Folder
Hello,
From page 18 of the ImageAssist documentation:
"You do not have to manually select the driver if you have already placed it in the Dell_Driver_Packs_Local folder. If you want to restore the image to multiple systems, you can add the applicable driver package files to Dell_Driver_Package_Local folder."
Two folders are mentioned here, Dell_Driver_Packs_Local and Dell_Driver_Package_Local. Which one should I use, and where should it be created (e.g. on the root of C:\, etc.)? I'm using driver packs found here:

Thank you!

Good afternoon Josh,
the documentation contains a typo, and a change request has been raised. The only folder that is used by Dell ImageAssist to automatically detect drivers that could be used during the image restoration is Dell_Driver_Packs_Local.
This folder is located in the USB Drive that can be created with Dell ImageAssist and used to locally restore images.
You can copy the driver packs, downloaded from the link you mention in your message, in this folder, and then start an image restoration. If the drivers for the model where the image is being restored are present in the folder Dell_Driver_Packs_Local, they will be automatically detected and will not need to select them manually in the user interface.
Kind regards

@BNEWTONINPDX They need to remain zipped
DIA will detect them and unzip them if they are in Dell_Driver_Packs_Local
if they are in any other location you will need to browse to it and select them, but they still need to remain zipped. DIA will take care of the extraction-Thanks.

I have a follow up question:
I have the driver packs on my external drive with my image
What is the best practice to browse to the specific driver pack for the system I'm imaging? Do the packs need to remain zipped or extracted? I was getting "No Driver Detected" when I browsed to the parent folder of the extracted Driver Pack.
If I add the driver packs to the Dell_Driver_Packs_Local - do I keep them zipped, or unzip and copy the newly created folder?

Can you please tell me, where in ImageAssist do you "browse to and select them", if Dell_Driver_Packs_Local is not on the local C: drive where ImageAssist is running?
The issue for us, we are running Windows 10 Pro as a host machine, with multiple images created (different images for different departments with different needs).
So we have used the Family Pack Downloader on the host machine, to download the drivers to it's own C: drive.
But how do we then point ImageAssist to the host's C: drive? Where in the "Guide Me" process, is this done?
Thank you

Hi , DARREN-AM
Please see below instructions for drivers and additional note at bottom-Thanks
Restoring an image:
1. Boot to the ImageAssist USB drive.
2. On the ImageAssist Selector screen, click the Restore icon . The Restore Tool screen is displayed.
3. Click Browse and select the WIM file that you want to restore. The Browse for WIM File window is displayed.
4. Select the Dell_Captured_Image.wim file and click OK.
5. To add a driver package file that matches with the model of the system you are restoring to, click Add Driver Package. NOTE: You do not have to manually select the driver package file if you have placed it in the Dell_Driver_Packs_Local folder. If you want to restore the image to multiple systems, you can add the applicable driver package files to Dell_Driver_Packs_Local folder.
6. If you want to manually select the driver package files, click Browse, select the driver package files, and then click OK.
7. To check the supported models for the driver package, select the driver package, and then click Check Supported Models. The Selected Models window is displayed.
8. Click Add Selected and then click Finished.
9. Click Restore. When the image is restored, a confirmation dialog box is displayed.
10. On the Restore Complete dialog box, perform one of the following: • Click Shutdown to turn off the system. • Click Reboot to immediately restart the restored WIM file.
Option 5 gives information on how to add the drivers, if you have the drivers stored in the Dell_Driver_Packs_Local folder on the DIA usb key then DIA will automatically find the correct driver for the system being restored, you also have the option to map to a network drive once you click browse , you can enter the FQDN path and map to another system
