Dell ImageAssist limitations identified in some legacy 32bit environments

As Win10 x64 becomes the standard for MS/DELL/and other OEM's, supporting legacy 32-bit environments becomes a challenge. We have seen some newer chipsets and component impacted. As we discover issues, we will share our findings to reduce impact to ImageAssist users where possible. Please refer back to this post for updates.

  • Issue: Booting to ImageAssist USB drive – the touchpad may not function in an ImageAssist Windows 10 32-bit PE if the ImageAssist USB was created using a 32-bit OS.
    • Workaround: Attach a USB mouse.

Hi Tyler,

I am trying to capture a Windows 7 32bit image (we are using legacy programs and PCI cards on production systems) using the latest DIA, but the validation crashes. I have tried this on both physical and VM and got the same issue, using .net 4.0, 4.5, 4.7 versions. Please advise.

Is there a way I can download earlier versions of DIA or even DIW?

Cheers

Robert

Hi Robert -

If you will, please zip the log files from c:\windows\panther\dtri\logs and email them (include a link back to this forum post for reference) to the appropriate regional ImageAssist helpdesk team so we can have a look.

Thank you,

Tyler
