Hi Tyler,
I would like to know if I can build a 'Universal' Windows 7 Professional build using Image Assist, then deploy to multiple models using their specific Driver CABs.
I tried earlier today, using a Windows 7 WIM I built using Dell Image Assist, but then it failed trying to inject drivers, it also did not correctly identify the model (E7250) that I was trying to deploy on.

Hi NRADONICH -
Yes, it is possible. Have you used the following resources to help you with the image build / restoration process?

Greetings Tyler!
Is there a switch i can use to insist the USB Drive Creator builds a 32bit compatible image?
I used the /secureboot command as the USB is intended for tablet use, but on the ATOM cpu equipped tablets the error message states that i'm trying to load 64bit software.
Specifically \windows\system32\boot\winload.exe
Thanks!

Ernest,
No switch is required for the tools to use the 32BIT PE. This is the version that is used by default currently.
Thanks,

Please note the /secureboot switch has been depreciated in the newest release 5.0.1.1 of ImageAssist. The USB creator tool will now auto-create the drive based off the OS architecture it’s run from. e.g. if 32-bit, it will create a 32-bit PE. if 64-bit, it will create 64-bit PE.

Any Chance of command line switches being added to the Restore Tool in ImageAssist to help us automate and speed up the imaging process a bit? ... It's lacking a bit. Not really much need to technicians that would be using this to be limited to a GUI. Great at what it does, though!

Just to add, the restore tool is provided to just verify built images before supplying to the factory. Its not designed as a deployment tool. When your image is deployed from factory you have no real technician time required.

this is great until you have to reimage a system. can't send it back to the factory to be reimaged and then back again.

Note, when installing on your own workstation, to just get the toolset, /forceinstall may not be good enough by itself. I had to run it with these specific options:
/forceinstallfida /forceinstalldomain
