Booted VM to ISO but can't map network drive

I created the ISO from the USB create tool using the /ISO switch. We use vSphere Enterprise (esxi) as opposed to VMware Workstation edition. I attached the ISO to a VM in order to service our wim file as outlined in the "servicing an image" section of the user guide. The VM boots to the ISO, I click the File Explorer icon and get to the point where I need to mount the wim file. I tried to map a network drive and get a net use error 2. I check task manager and the networking tab says no active network adapters found. It would seem that the ISO does not have drivers for the NIC card used in the VM. Any thoughts on adding a driver into the ISO? Or is there a certain NIC setting to use in the VM that will work?

Hi wb-in-wpb,

Nice job on using all the tools! Here's an article that talks about adding additional drivers. The part you'll need is at the end "How to include PE drivers in your Dell ImageAssist USB..."

Good luck!

Thanks! I'll give this a try over the next couple of days when I can steal time for it and report back.

That worked great!

I reinstalled Image Assist with the /add_drivers switch, added the VMware drivers to the "__Additional_Drivers__" folder, recreated the ISO, and saw the drivers being injected. Booted to the new ISO and now get the network. I also get the rest of the VM drivers so I can go out of the VM and back to my desktop without having to hit Ctrl+Alt.
