Blue screen after imageassist image restored

Hi, I'm an 'ImageAssist virgin' so go easy

I've just captured a W10 2004 image, which is a driverless VM with all our applications etc installed. All seemed to go well and I was very hopeful that this will go very smoothly!

So I boot off the USB, select the image to restore, and away it goes.

Around 10 minutes later, I reboot... And then blue screen...

Stop code: PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED.

This is restoring to a 10th Gen equipped DELL Latitude, not tried yet on the precision workstations which I also need to build.

I've previously imaged with Kaspersky Security Center, and it's only ever worked on HP kit, so this tool is new for me but seems fairly straight forward. Any tips? Any prep of the new machine before restoring the image can be done?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

There's some information about that error message here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance-winpc/startup-issue-process1initializationfailed/65f322e9-3e28-4955-aca4-534d5c7ab12a, more likely it has nothing to do with ImageAssist, it could be some file corrupted some how.

At the end of the capture you copied the .wim file to some share drive or you copied the .wim file out of the vm ?

You can check the .wim file with the 7-zip program (https://www.7-zip.org/) before the restore, right click on it and run "Test Archive" .

Let us know if you have still issues.
