Unable to boot using a BCV device

Hi

Our current setup is we have around few hundred servers ( solaris ) which is using DMX as the storage , we also have the bootdisk on the DMX boxes and these boxes are SRDF accross to a different site .

We normally perform a Disaster recovery test , this time when we did DR test we were not able to boot the servers , the only difference between last time and this time is that we have mirrored the boot disk using veritas volume manager

When we checked with veritas they say its a problem with the SRDF.

Does anyone have any idea

OS : Solaris 8
Veritas VM : 4.1 mp2
Storage : DMX
No Powerpath

Would you mind sharing the fix with us? I would be interested to hear how this was resolved... Thanks.

Let me guess: replicate the boot lun with SRDF and setup the boot luns in the HBAs.

Uhm, in the title you mentioned a BCV device. I guess splitting the BCV from the STD will help as well when you want to boot. I saw that happening on an AIX machine before ;) With established BCVs the STD was giving us a headache when we wanted to boot. So before booting: split the BCVs and establish them again after the reboot.
