Solutions Enabler returning a code 28

My customer is receiving a code 28 (Read or Read/Write permission/access not present) when we try to do a SymInit through the SYMAPI built into the Solutions Enabler. Does anyone know the cause of this type of error, or a workaround?

s this the wrong place for this type of question? Should I be submitting an SR?

Not off the top but hang on...

You're in the right place.

Should I be submitting an SR?

If we can't get you moving again here, then sure. You can open a service request any time, but the advantage to discussing here is that other customers can see not only the answer, but the various facets of the situation and how you got to your conclusion.

Now, I took your data and extrapolated a little on our knowledgebase. Does this help?

Small problem encountered. Every time I click on the link to the knowledgebase I get the Primus Self-Service login page. I give it my username and password for the powerlink site, but it keeps rejecting them.

hmm... that's odd. Let's try this. Go here:
https://support.emc.com/products/SolutionsEnabler/SYMCLIGeneral.aspx##

click on the "How-to's" tab.

It is the last one under Miscellaneous. It's the same link though :|

Couldn't get it with a new link either. I decided that it might be an issue with my browser, so I cleared the cache and my saved session data. Everything appears to be fine now.

Anyway, now I've got the data and I will pass it on to my customer and see if that solves the problem.

Thanks!

You're welcome Chris!

Hopefully that knowledgebase entry gets the ball rolling. If you still have trouble, you can search the knowledgebase off that support.emc.com Solutions Enabler web page.

Let us know the results.
