sd.conf file with clones
I have a setup with R2 and Clone volumes for a solaris environment.
Daily Clones will be mounted on solaris servers and backups will be performed.
Once for every six months,R2 role will become R1 and the servers needs to access the primary volumes instead of clones.
Planning to update sd.conf on these servers once per every six months to do the switch. Is there any better way doing this with out modifying the file to change volumes?Any ideas will be appreaciated..

1) leave both R2 and clones masked to host. Unmap clones from frontend and map R2 devices using same lun
2) leave both clones and R2 devices mapped on frontend. Unmask clones and mask R2 devices (but you'll have different lun ID).
Whatever you choose, later failover/swap pairs and have R1 devices offered to your host
Cheers
