HPUX boot from SAN cannot migrate to Brocade
We currently have an HPUX server that is connected through a McData fabric to a DMX3. The server boots from the SAN. We attempted to migrate the server from the McData (64M) fabric to a Brocade (48K) fabric, HBA and FA. Once we were on the Brocade fabric, the server would not come up. When scanning for devices down the HBA's, the bootprom would say that no devices were found. Zoning was checked at least 3 times and confirmed to be correct. Masking remained the same because the HBA's and the FA's remained the same throughout. Is there a procedural problem with the migration? I have attached a grab to identify any issues with HBA driver/firmware with the switches. Our Brocade switches are running FOS 5.3.0d. We ended up backing out of the change and putting the FA's and HBA's back on the McData fabric. Anyone have written procedure to migrate HP-UX server from McData to Brocade?

Example from ioscan:
McData - always has port value of 19:
0/10/0/0.36.10.19.1.0.3
Brocade - always has a port value if 0:
0/10/0/0.36.10.0.1.0.3
So what happened when you migrated from one switch type to another was that the host expected to see its devices (boot device in particular) down the same hardware path.
The new hardware path for your boot device must be defined at a HBA level so the host can see the boot device at power-on.

Thanks for your help. We were able to see the devices. What we did we migrated one path at a time. We moved only one path and we were able to boot from SAN. Later we also move the second path.
