What do you mean by disk ? A physical spindel or a symdev ? Since you mention 500 Megabytes, I assume it's a symdev. Why would you use a 500MB symdev other than for a Windows quorum disk ?

AFAIK you can replicate every symdev from 1 Symm to another. So if you have a 500MB symdev (that small ?), you should be able to replicate that to another Symm.

Rob doesn't understand what a "disk" is .. I don't really understand what "replicate" is ;-) .. You already have a 500Mb disk and want to copy data from existing device to brand-new DMX device ?? Do you want to copy data from OS point of view (copy/cp) or do you want the storage to pull data from existing device ??

It looks like we have a lot of questions !! :D

Isn't it funny how the more you learn the more questions you end up asking.

It's almost like you don't actually gain knowledge itself, just the ability to ask the right questions to better define the situation :-)

So what is it ? 500mb, 500Mb or 500MB ? mb can't be, since milli bits don't exist, Mb can't be right either, since we talk about bytes when talking about actual stored data, so it must be MB then !

Yeah:
