Where to start, for a career in EMC

Hello Community members,

Hope all are doing well.

I am a VMware VCP5-DCV certified professional, working in Dubai.

Always wanted to get associated with EMC.

How do I start learning / reading / practising EMC storage without actual hands-on?

Would be looking at getting certified in EMC storage.

Currently, lost my job due to global IT staff reduction.....

Please be kind enough to share ideas, to get through....

Thanking you all,

P. Rodrigues

Hello and welcome to the Proven Professional community!

The EMC Proven Professional certification program is designed as a role based program because we view certification as representation of readiness to perform a role. A role based program takes into account a number of factors that are unique to a specific role. Within each role, it is possible to build upon previously earned certifications by moving through our Associate, Specialist and Expert certifications. Where to begin depends, to a degree, on the role you are interested in pursuing.

For details regarding the Associate level certifications EMC offers (including our latest Data Scientist Associate!) click here. You can also find more information regarding the certifications EMC offers by role on this page under "Certification Framework".

The Information Storage and Management (ISM) v2 book can be purchased on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Wiley Publishing and Wiley-India by clicking here.  The ISMv2 book is also available for Kindle on Amazon.  Be sure to also view our Starter Kit promotion. Each Starter Kit contains one Video Instructor-Led Training (VILT) title ($1,200 value) & one EMC Proven Professional Exam Voucher ($200 value) – 57% discount!

Members of our community have commented on how they prepared for the ISM exam here and here.  While these posts are in response to the first ISM book, the advice is relevant to the new book as well.

Best of luck as you pursue new goals!
