Solution Enabler Simulator
I have cleared ISM and preparing for EMC Symmetrix solutions exam.I love EMC technologies after started studying for EMC ISM exam .But soon during the preperation for Symmetrix solution exam i came to realize the unavailabilty of Solution enabler simulator .I have training materials for Symmetris Business continuity solutions but still with out a gud simulator i found it very hard to crack the exam .I was wondering why EMC is not coming up with any simulators like netapp dataontap simulator for Symcli. If EMC is expecting more people to get certified means a simulator will be always handy.Just want to know is there any reason behind this..?

To address your question regarding the simulator for Symcli, EMC has not provided such simulators. Our preference has been for students to participate in the training related to the exam and work on EMC actual products. The cost of developing and maintaining simulators for a complex product such as Symmetrix would negatively impact the cost of training one would have to pay in order to attend, so our decision has been to provide actual product experiences and demonstrations embedded in the training. We also offer a series of virtual labs that can be accessed by customers and partners. This will enable you to get more hands on experience, in addition to attending the training provided by EMC Education Services. You can find out more about our Education Services Virtual Labs (ESVL) by contact your Education Services Sales representative directly.
I hope that helps, please let me know if there are additional questions or concerns.

I think i will never understand the statement "Simulators will impact the value of training".Regarding ESVL always we have to wait atleast 2 months to get a session.I had attened training from EMC but i would like to test my skills before executing commands in production box .From this what i infer is EMC is only looking for business part everywhere. If EMC keeps Storage Admins happy more they will talk about and confident about emc technologies and in turn it will benefit EMC.

Offline mode is not that useful apart from list commands .You cant really call it as a simulator Most of the commands wont work in offline mode

Hi Sokundu,
EMC Education has a customer team membership offering known as EMC EduCare. This program is not intended to replace formal training, it is targeted at customer teams that have taken EMC technical training and wish to keep their skills fine tuned by using lab equipment, having opportunities to speak with education experts, access knowledge sharing materials, etc. The EduCare program includes the ESVL simulator.
The EMC EduCare program acts as a complement to formal EMC technical training and you may learn more about the program at the following EMC Community link: EMC EduCare
