SMC Licensing Scheme
Hi All,
I have searched the powerlink site in order to find information about licensing scheme for the SMC software, but I wasn’t able to find anything related.
Is it possible to explain me what the current licensing scheme for using SMC with VMAX and DMX4 storages is?

Hi Stephanie,
I just want to know if it’s necessary to purchase ECC licenses (like a bundle ECC with SMC) for DMX and VMAX storages or I can order only SMC licenses (without ECC).

Hi Minas,
I'm told the topic of licensing is more about functionality on the Symm rather than SMC. Is there a specific detail you are looking for or general licensing information?
EMC Education Services offers Symmetrix eLicensing courses. In order for us to point you in the right direction, can you tell me if you are an EMC customer, partner or employee?

Ah in that case, I suggest you contact your EMC Sales rep. The training course covers how licenses are installed & used, not how the lcensing schemes are set up.
