Outside Looking In
I am a Project Manager Professional (PMP) with 15 years of experience in telecom and IT but I do not have any background in storage. Will taking the EMC intro storage class increase my changes for a contracting or employment position with EMC?
Also after speaking with the training help desk being on the outside I am only allowed this class on the track to project manager for EMC proven certified. Is this correct?
I am in Tampa. If you know of any EMC project managers down here that i could network with that would be great.
Thank you for your time.

Hello Okerlin -
Welcome to the EMC Proven Professional community!
I believe the intro class you are referring to is the Information Storage and Management curriculum. This is indeed open for anyone to take and a great place to begin your journey into storage management. More details regarding this course and the associated exam (E20-001) can be found by clicking here. Be sure to check out the EMC Proven Professional Starter Kit which is offered at a 72% discount!
There are 2 other role based tracks that are open for anyone to take. They are the Cloud Architect and Data Center Architect roles.
We are not able to provide guidance regarding employment opportunities, but there is some great information on the Education portal describing the benefits of becoming certified.
Best of luck to you! Let us know how you progress!
Kind regards,
Debi
