Meet Senior Presales Technical Consultant: Wayne Clark

Wayne Clark is a Senior Presales Technical Consultant based in Canberra, Australia.

While at university, Wayne studied Accounting and Business Finance with the intent of specializing in taxation and retirement planning. After graduating, and while working full-time for a leading Australian bank, Wayne completed a graduate diploma in information systems and never looked back. For the next 10 years Wayne has worked for a number of large systems integrators specializing in mission critical Microsoft, Novell and Cisco infrastructure solutions; pioneering the use of SAN storage technologies when server clustering solutions were still in their infancy.

In 2003, Wayne accepted the role of lead storage infrastructure architect in Canberra which meant a move from Brisbane, Queensland. Eighteen months into the project, Wayne managed the client’s migration to EMC storage infrastructure and joined EMC shortly thereafter in 2005.

Wayne is well known for his love of learning by customers and colleagues alike. His approach to learning has rapidly built his knowledge of EMC’s storage technologies and increased his value to the customer. Wayne has focused on the Technology Architecture and Specialist Product Program tracks, becoming one of the most qualified presales resources in APJ. In addition, during EMC World in 2006 Wayne met with members of EMC’s Education Services and Training team.  Since then, Wayne has been a regular contributor to the development of the Proven Professional program.

Wayne recently completed TOGAF enterprise architecture training and is a member of the ANZ Strategic Architecture Team, a national technical leadership team engaged in multi-discipline solutions.

Wayne embraces learning as a continuous journey rather than as a destination and pursues knowledge with a passion. As a result of this passion, Wayne has earned 34 EMC certifications, including Cloud Certification in April, and multiple 3rdparty certifications from Microsoft, Novel, Cisco and VMware. “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” (Malcolm X).
