Meet a Professor from our EMC Academic Alliance Program: Johny Jose
Johny Jose is a Research Scholar and Professor based in Mangalore, India. As a professor, Johny became interested in ways to work with companies to motivate his students to learn the skills that will increase their employability. He was very impressed with the EMC Academic Alliance team and how they went beyond expectations to help him meet this aim. As a result of these efforts, Johny became EMCISA certified and began to teach the EMC Information Storage and Management course at Don Bosco College, Kannur, Kerala and Kodaikanal Institute of Technology, Kodaikanal. Over 75 of his students became EMCISA certified after taking this course and a few students have considered employment with EMC.
Johny also participated in EMC’s Knowledge Sharing competition this past year. He co-authored, with Mitchel Valentina D’Souza, an article proposing a cost effective method of remote data storage which was released in the Proven Professionals Only community this past February. The authors developed a protocol to implement this approach and simulations are currently being done to test its efficiency. Click here to read the article.
Johny has published several other articles in the international community. Currently, Johny is completing his PhD at National Institute of Technology Karnataka which he hopes to compete by May 2011. After that, he will be returning to Don Bosco College.
