Is DMX-2 exposure is enough for appearing business continuity specialist (e20-512) exam.

Hi,

I am new to this blog and also new to symmetrix. Now i want to appear for symmetrix business continuity specialist exam e20-512 (in India). Is it possible to appear directly or any prerequisites are there? One more thing...I have experience and exposure on dmx-2 boxes. Is this enough for e20-512 certification. Already i have completed my clariion associate certification. Please advise me. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Hello Summu, first let us welcome you to this community!  We're so glad that you found us, and that we're able to help you with your questions.

Here is a link that will help you.  As you begin to plan for any exam, it's important to first review the exam description (you'll find it on the page that I've provided).  Carefully review the exam description as it details everything that you need to know; and it provides a list of the training classes that area available to support the exam.  In this case, all of the training is available in either an eLearning or a Video-ILT format so you don't have to wait for a scheduled class.

Then, take the practice test (also available on the same page).  The practice test is just one indicator of your readiness for the exam, so passing it is not a guarantee that you'll pass the exam but it will provide you with feedback about what areas you may need to study to better prepare.

Using both the exam description and the practice test as your guide (as long as you only take the practice test once!), you should have a good idea of whether your experience is enough to take the exam.

Please let me know if this answers your question, and please let us know how you do on the exam!

I'd use that link Michelle provided and take a look at exactly what this exam covers. There is a list of the software covered by this exam as well as the version numbers for each software package in the exam description.

Personally, I'd be bit nervous about relying on my experience alone to pass that exam if I hadn't worked extensively with the versions listed on the exam. The exam description also tells what level of DMX the test is written for (its DMX 4 with Enginuity 5773).

Hello Chowdaree,

This is a very popular question answered here.

You can take the Specialist level exam first, if you like, but you won't receive your Specialist certification until you achieve the Associate level (the E20-001 Information Storage and Management).  The sequence of exams is up to you, but each credential builds upon the previous.

Please let me know if you have other questions.
