English EMC-class in Germany?
Hi all,
I'm new to EMC and I'll be taking some instructor led classes shortly. Since I'm in Sweden and there are no classes here, I can choose to go to Ireland or Germany.
My second language is English, so Ireland would be preferred. But this time it collides with a family event and I'm tempted to go for the Germany option.
Here is the concern: Are the German instructors equally good at English, or will it be a five day event of trying to figure out what he just tried to say in English?
From experience, the "older" generation of Germans, (just as us Swedes), tend to have poor english skills. I really dont mean to offend anyone, but I have taken classes before (not EMC) which were hard because of the German-inspired English language.
Has anyone taken an English language class in Germany? Experiences?
Thanks in advance,
Magnus von Rosen, Sweden

Hi Magnus,
Which training are you looking for? The instructors travel around, so I've had Irish, Scotish, Welsh, Dutch, German and Italian teachers either in Stockholm, Nieuwegein (NL) or Schwalbach (D). Of course not every trainer is as fluent as the other, but overall I was well impressed with the quality of instructors.
Maybe try shooting an email to EMEA_Education@emc.com and enquire about the trainer for the event you want to book? They can see which instructor is planned for that specific training, so if you've got a name we can grade him

I heard Kopenhagen has excellent instructors as well and the ones in Frankfurt are great too! I shouldn’t worry too much about that.
Most of the time instructors travel the world, so an English instructor in Brentfort might be the same one as in Frankfurt

Thanks guys!
After reading your comments I was looking to attend the VNX Implementation Engineer-course. I was just about to hit "book" for the next session in Schwalbach, but it got cancelled. Next on eis in Q1 2013.
Perhaps it will be Dublin for me after all, there's one in the end of November when I was supposed to be on leave. Meh.

"grade" him?
Should we start a top 50 list of instructors? I already know who's in the top 10, in fact I know who's number 1!

hahaha, you're not the only one, trust me
It happens to me 2, 3 times a week that at the end of the day I stil have 3 or 4 emails just sitting there waiting to be sent out. And all that time I thought, why isn't anyone answering my emails

canceled? Or simply full? When it's full, send an email to education and ask for some help. A few years ago I really needed a particular course and they managed to squeeze me in as number 13, where normally only 12 are permitted.
