EMC Training
Hi,
Can someone help me choose the right training for EMC products, I am new to EMC and I have been given a training passport and I need to book some courses, we have the following:
CLARiiON CX4-240
Centerra
Cellerra
CX500
Brocade switches
I need a starting point for day to day administration of all the products, as well as SAN configuration (setting up LUNS abd asigning to hosts etc)
Which courses and which order should i be doing? I have had a look at the catalogue and I am a bit confused.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Farouk

Hello Farouk,
First you need to complete the Associate level Certification, E20-001 Information Storage and Management details on the following link
http://edu.corp.emc.com/gs/certification/tracks/emcpa_track.aspx
The products which you have choosen are vast and it involves SAN NAS and CAS put together. I suggest you should start with one at a time.

Hi Farouk,
It looks like as you have CLARiiON CX4-240, CLARiiON CX500 and Brocade switches you will be spend a lot of your time administering the SAN environment and then the Celerra (NAS) and Centera (CAS) environments. I would suggest you start with either the CLARiiON or SAN Storage Administrator curriculum and then consider the Celerra and Centera curriculum later. If you are also interested in certification the pre-requisite to all of the Storage Administrator Specialist certification credentials is the Information Storage and Management (E20-001) Associate exam.
Good luck and keep us posted as you go through the training and certification!
Regards, Simon.
