E2E webcast on FAST (V-MAX and Celerra) for certified Proven Professionals
If you hold a Proven Professional certification, you should have received an email inviting you to sign up for the next Engineer 2 Engineer webcasts that will be about FAST for Symmetrix V-MAX and Celerra.
If you didn't get the invite, head to the Proven Professionals Only community, we've posted the details on how to sign up there. We'll also be discussing the topics covered in the webcast in that community, so come join us. The E2E webcasts are an exclusive benefit to EMC Proven Professionals.
Can't access the Proven Professionals Only community? Check out the tips in this doc.
What's FAST? It stands for Fully Automated Storage Tiering. Here's the official EMC announcement about FAST that was released today. Why would you want it? It is a way to automatically provision data to the storage tier that makes the most sense for how the data is being used. For more technical insights, here are some of the blog posts about it:
- Chuck Hollis - Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
- Storagezilla - FAST to the Fullest
- Storage Anarchist - EMC FAST and the Big 5 (Barry Burke will be leading one of the E2E discussions next week)
- Brian Powers - EMC introduces FAST
- Christopher Kusek: One Stop Shop for Symmetrix V-Max FAST docs (pretty comprehensive list!)
- Bas Raayman - EMC announced its FAST - links
If you see more posts, link them here in the comments. What do you think about this announcement? Do you see it having an impact on your role as a information and storage professional?
