Trying to use a Perc H700 controller in a Precision T7400 WS

Hello All, I realize this is not exactly an enterprise storage question, but does anyone know how to get a Perc H700 controller to work in a Precision T7400? I tried to flash the latest firmware to fix the "Blocking" of non-Dell drives using the Windows update method, but after executing the update package it says essentially "This is a non-supported system". I was hoping to avoid the creation of a boot CD as I haven't done that for almost a decade, and don't own a USB flash drive.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro X64 on 4 15K.1 Seagate Savvios in RAID 0 on the embedded LSISAS1068E controller. Maybe that is the problem, or is the code written to detect the BIOS of only Poweredge Servers and Equalogic enclosures? I see in the H700/H800 literature the supported systems (of which Precision workstation are not), but I see no reason why this card couldn't be used in any system with a PCIe 2.0 slot. I think it is simply a marketing tactic or business decision to make the H700/H800 proprietary to Dell Servers/Enclosures just as they for the first time decided to "block" non-Dell drives. HP and IBM and been doing this for years, and that is the reason I have been buying Dell Products for 5 years now. I cannot understand why anyone would buy an enterprise level workstation (be it from Dell, HP, IBM, Fujitsu), that supports only antiquated technology, especially given that these workstations are not cheap. I'm assuming you would have to buy an LSI card from these OEMs (or aftermarket) if you want SAS 6g support/capability? I own an HP Z800, a Dell T7500, a Dell T5500, and I'm having the same problem with all these systems trying to implement SAS 2.0 on the cheap. I'm reading all these posts about using LSI firmware/drivers (what I had intended to do as a workaround if this failed), but it seems a very tedious task with limited success for most people. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -John
