sw. connectivity issue between TL2000 and Microsoft DPM2012 console
Hello, can anybody help us pl. with the following? We connected a TL2000 tapeloader to a DELL PE R610 server, DELL MD3200 SAS array and DELL MD1200 direct attached storage. We installed MS DPM2012. In the DPM2012 management console we execute the command "Remove and add tape (I/E) port", to remotely open the gate of the TL2000 tape drawer to get a tape in. However, the command does not work, the gate door does not open. We use the latest DELL firmware 5/12/2012 B20,A16 and 9/5/2012 v1.02.01,A03 together with the DELL driver 10/31/2011 v6.2.1.5, A09. Does anybody have an idea? All help would be much appreciated!

Hello Aernout,
Have you installed the enumerators for the tape library & the Drive. You can check to see if they are installed by going to device manger and choosing System Devices. Once in there you should see Changer bus enumerator & Tape bus enumerator. If not then what you need to do is to run the install_nonexclusive install that is in the driver download for both the tape drive driver & the tape library driver. Now this does require a reboot of the server once installed. Once the server has rebooted try it again & that should have taken care of it.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi Sam,
Thougt I would give you an update; all the above did not solve the issue: the DPM2012 softwareicm. the DELL server hardware still cannot make the TL2000 machine operate in a way the customer wants it to work. Now DELL and MS will both look into it.
