Storage Pool Segregation
Hi,
We have a PS6100XV, 15K 3.5" SAS Storage Array coming and we are about to deploy this unit into our production. This would be a completely new setup.
I would like to know if it is advisable to segregate my storage into two pools. We plan to utilize the the EQL for VM provisioning and iSCSI drives for DB servers. Our idea is to have one pool for VMs and another storage pool for the iSCSI drives. Or would it be better to consolidate all into one storage pool.
Kindly advise.

Hi Don,
Thank you for replying. On another note, I would like to know if the best RAID recommendation. We are using RAID 5 in our current production but for this new setup, I am thinking of RAID 6 but I heard that the write performance is degraded.
Advise is greatly appreciated.
