Stay on 1GbE or Migrate to 10GbE
Q.1
We have 1 enclosure M1000e with 8 servers M600 and M610. The enclosure has a Cisco 3130X Blade Switch in fabric A. Now we need to buy new M620 blade server, but this server have a Broadcom 57810-k 10GbE in fabric A, so this NIC link at 1Gbps with the Cisco 3130X (Supported by Dell) or we need to change the I/O in fabric A?
Q.2
Equalogic recently launched 10GbE Storage, PS4110. We plan to buy 3 Equalogic this year so the question is if Equalogic PS4100 will be replaced with PS4110 in a near future or Dell plan to support the two option 1GbE and 10GbE equalogic SAN?
Q.3
Now that we see M620 with 10GbE, Equalogic 10GbE is time to migrate to 10GbE in the SAN fabric? Is 1GbE became legacy in a near future?
We plan to do an inversion this year in new hardware and we don’t want to buy technology with short life.

Thanks Very much for your opinion.
We think that for us is not necessary 10GbE in the Storage Controllers or the servers for access the SAN Fabric but now we see DELL moving to 10GbE in new generation off Blade Servers, Equalogic, etc... so maybe is time to consider migrate the Switchs in the SAN fabric to 10GbE, the problem here is the cost, for example, a Cisco Nexus 5010 is to much expensive that a Catalyst 3750X.
Any other ideas are welcome ....
