PS4110 compatibility with M6220 switch

Dears, Kindly advise if possible to connect a Dell PS4110 to a PowerConnect M6220 switch? The iscsi port on the storage have 10Gb speed while the M6220 has a maximum of 1Gb speed. While trying to initialize the storage I got the following error: Initializing interface eth0. This may take a minute................ *** Interface eth0 failed to connect on the network. Please establish a network link to eth0. Please try again. Thanks and Best Regards, Georges

Thanks a lot Don..

isn't there any workaround that could be done to make this work??

can't we use the 10Gb uplink ports on the M6220 switch?

Regards,

Georges

IIRC, the M6220 is not in the EQL compatibility list and is not even supported for iSCSI use (buffer issues).

Thanks a lot for your quick reply..

Please note that I will replace the PS4110 by a PS4100 by swapping the disks.

Is it a feasible solution? could we remove the 900gb disks from the PS4110 and insert them to the PS4100 and initialize it? will it work?

Hello.. Sorry.. What I meant is that we have another PS4100x storage with 146GB drives that we will replace with the PS4110x that has 900GB drives.. Before replacing the storage we will need to remove the 900GB disks from the PS4110 and insert them in the PS4100 storage.. Could you please advise if we are able to replace all the disks (24 disks) in the PS4100 box and initialize it. Best Regards.. Georges
