Process to add a 2nd MD1000 to CentOS

Currently I have a R210 II running CentOS 5. There is a MD1000 attached that has 15 2Tb drives formatted to a single RAID 5 array using XFS. I'd like to add a second MD1000 with the same configuration. To be on the safe side I'd like to get verification I have the correct procedure to do this -

1. Shut down server

2. Attach new enclosure with drives loaded to the 2nd port on the PERC controlloer

3. Boot up server, enter PERC BIOS with CTRL-R

4. Create new VD using RAID5

5. Iniitalize

6. Boot up server

7. Using fdisk partition new array

8. Format new drive

9. Add fstab entry.

I left out a number of the finer details but generally is the correct process that will not have any adverse affect on the currently running array?
