New Dell Server issue
Hi
Recently have a new dell server with raid 5 and raid 10 setup. I would like to begin my install of windows server but
for some reason my raid doesn't display in Open Manager and displays the following error message
RAC0501: There are no physical disks to be displayed. 1. Check if the host system is powered off or shutdown. 2. Check if the physical disks are inserted into the enclosure or attached to the backplane. 3. There are no out-of-band capable controllers detected.
RAC0503: There are no out-of-band capable controllers to be displayed. Check if the host system is powered off or shutdown.

What model of server is it that you are having issues with? If you haven't installed the Operating System yet how are you using Open Manage? Please let me know some more of the details and I would be happy to assist.

I'm having similar problems. I tried the "Reset iDRAC" option.
PowerEdge T620
BIOS Version 2.1.3
Firmware Version 1.57.57 (Build 04)
Lifecycle Controller Firmware 1.1.5.165
Backplane Firmware 1.00

Hi-
I'd first run the Lifecycle Controller update process. It will make sure you are using the latest and greatest firmware and drivers.
In the case of BIOS, I believe the latest release is 2.2.2.
Is it that you are wanting to configure the RAID or are you simply wanting to see each virtual disk when you are installing your OS?

After a good reboot an choosing Control-R at boot to enter the Raid controller, then exiting (Another Reboot) I was able to get the iDRAC to see the storage. Seems to be a problem after updating the Lifecycle controller,BIOS, or Controller. Wasn't a problem until after I updated.
I'm running an R620.
Oh, and I would be hesitant to reset the iDRAC unless you have local access or remote hands. If you don't you will have a problem getting the iDRAC an IP address again so you can access remotely.
