MD3000i Event Error Code: 1706 and 1707 after replacing battery of the controler

Dear Community,

yesterday I had to replace the battery of one of the Controler Modules of my MD3000i. I've done that several times already (1. taking controler offline 2. replace battery 3. take conroler online). A couple of errors/warnings have always popped up. Same yesterday, thus I wanted to give the controler one night to recover. But today I still receive the error code messages:

 1706 and 1707

Event Message: Degraded wide port becomes failed

and

Event Message: Optimal wide port becomes degraded

furthermore, I see

Error 1008

What I already tried:

Remove Controler for a couple of minutes and reinisert

Redistribute Virtual Disks.

Thank You in Advance!!

Hello pblanz,

Wide port errors are generally associated with a controller reset. It may be that the controller reset during its boot sequence after the battery replacement. This is not unusual when changes are made. The controller will see the changes, commit them to running memory, then reboot to commit them to permanent memory.

What you need to look at the event log to see if there are corresponding wide port optimal messages. You also might look for Start of Day Routine start and completed messages. If that’s all completing then you are good to go as there is no error.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
