MD 3420 SAS Host connection lost
Hello,
we are having trouble with installation of new MD3420 dual controller, SAS host interfaces with firmware 08.20.09.60. The host connection to one controller and Poweredge R530 with 12G SAS HBA get lost after reboot of the host. We are running VMWare ESXi 5.5 on the hosts.
We have the same problem with another system and Poweredge R630.
In addition the new system is located in Japan and we have no physical access to the MD and I did not find an option to do a remote reboot.
Best Regards
Marius

Hello Marius,
Did you happen to install the VMware plugin for the MD3420? If not there here is the link to the guide and the plugin.
Guide:
http://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_powervault/powervault-md3420_Reference%20Guide5_en-us.pdf
Plugin:
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=Y2YY0&fileId=3365313701&osCode=W12R2&productCode=powervault-md3420&languageCode=EN&categoryId=AP
Also I here is our deployment guide as well & I would check with your counter parts in Japan to make sure that the setup is correct. http://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/powervault-md3400_Deployment%20Guide2_en-us.pdf
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
