Issues changing the management IP on a MD storage

Hi,

this is an issue I have on 3 of my 4 MD storage. We are trying to configure the IP of the management of a MD3420 and it either provide the following error or just close the windows and keeps the old IP configuration.

Error 4 - The operation cannot complete because of an incorrect parameter in the command sent to the RAID controller module. Please retry the operation. If this message persists, contact your Technical Support Representative.

I saw on the Dell website multiple solution as placing the controller in service mode, changing it to DHCP and back to static IP. But in many case, it didn't fix the issue. We are at the point that we really need to fix this issue for support.

Any ideas that we could try? Anything that should be posted for everyone to try?

Thanks

I remember this having something to do with IPv6 (even if not used).

I don't remember if disabling the IPv6 option (checkbox) was a fix, or if you had to update the firmware (I see you're running 8.20.12.60

Click  on IP V6 Settings  and  change setting from specific configuration to  Obtain configuration Automatically .

Change Static IP  and select ok

Hello guys,

Maybe you need to go to this link https://www.dell.com/community/PowerVault/Dell-MD3620i-Raid-Contoller-Module-0-Management-IP-Error/td-p/4469384.

There you will have some idea about trick on console SMCLI or other.

Hope can help you.

Regards,

Nicknameyo
