How to add physical disk to Storage MD3000i
My SAN is MD3000i . have 4x 2Tb HDD SATA 5400rpm with RAID5. I map this on Windows server 2008 R2 S: drive of 5Tb. now it's fully capacity . I want extend capacity by add new another HDD to SAN . IS It automatic extend capacity and build RAID ? i'm afraid lost data . i want to extend the S: drive capacity with same data . because my data have many folder with permission security for both of Folders and Files.

Hello duykhanh2104,
Yes you can extent your disk on the MD3000i. If you are looking to add a disk you need to add them in a pair of 2 disk not just 1. Now once the new drives have been added to the virtual disk it will restripe the data across all disks. Now you always want to make sure that you have a backup of the data just in case something goes wrong & you need to do a restore. Here is a link to the user’s manual that explains about adding disk’s & if you look on page 38 it explains about this process.
