Guest Clustering on Virtual Machine on fibre SAN on Hyper-v 2012 R2 on MD fibre channel storage connected directly to host

Hi Team,

 

We are using Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-v Cluster on two host . CSV is hosting all the virtual Machines. Now customer is demanding to have Virtual MAchine cluster for SQL server.

on backend we have Dell R720 with Two HBA connected directly with MD box. we dont have any fibre swicthe here to support zoning.

 

Please let me know if any one done same kind of configuration.

Hi Ravindra,

You have a SAN with HBA, present an LUN to both the host and assign the pass throught disk to the guest VM.

That is when you add the LUN to the host, you see its as offline disk in the hyperv host server.

When you use the add VHD wizerd, you see a second option physical disk. Once you select this radio butten, you can see the RAW disk listed below you can selete then and then you can format it inside the guest VM. It works... Let me know if you have any question.
