FW Version 5.0 to 5.1 Drive Speed Recognition lost in SAN HQ and Command Line
Hi Joe,
Hope life is treating you well. When upgrading from 5.0 to 5.1 it seems that the speed of all of our Dell/EQ OEM Seagate Generation 6 and below drives are no longer recognized.
At the command line under RPM it reads "UNKOWN" and in the SANHQ it reads "Unrecognized Disk Information".
Did we do something wrong when upgrading or are we missing something? Is this a concern when it comes to load balancing?
Thank you very much in advance forany help you may provide.

Thank for the quick answer Don. We are running SANHQ 2.2
I understand that the relative latency will be initially measured on each member, however, how deos the architecture determine redirections? Will it be based only on latency and not the reflected labelling?
Or is the RPM/Disk Information simply for labelling purposes?
Sorry for what sounds like a redundant question, just want to make sure.
Thank you!

The benefits of dynamic load balancing are definately evident. There does seem do be something definately wrong however, without the recognition of drive speed IOP forecasting etc does not function in the new SAN HQ. That information may also be simply for human consumption, but it is sorely missed!

Agree Don, it is likely a f/w issue. Thank you very much.
