FS7500

We have been using a FS7500 for about 12 months now.  But we are still experiencing problems with Quotas.

Has anyone had any success with quotas?  Our student home folder quotas are ok as we can use the "domain user" group from AD.

However, we would like to be able to be a little more flexible with our Staff users and be able to quota via different AD groups.

Our findings so far have shown that the FS will only quota based on the Primary group that the user is in.

Is this the only way that the FS can quota?

Has anyone experienced problems changing users users Primary group that are mentioned in Microsofts TechNet?

On another note, what anti virus software is best for scanning the FS and is there a way to block certain file types?

Cheers

To add to Don's comment:

The primary group controls the quota for each user per the EqualLogic Group Manager Administration Manual.  Starting on page 216 in the manual there is an example to increase a user quote past the group quota:

“In the event of a conflict between a user's own quota and the per-user quota for the group to which the user belongs, the user quota overrides the group quota.  For example, if you applied a quota of 5 GB to each user the Administrators group, but also created a quota of 10 GB for a user named Karla who belonged to the Administrators group, the Karla user is given a 10 GB quota.”

You would need to do this for all the staff users.

Regarding the question for Anti-Virus to block certain file types:

On page 226 of the same document discusses how to do this from the NAS antivirus settings that are available for CIFS shares.
