Extend Virtual disk size in RAID 6 on MD3600i
We have MD3600i with 3 disk groups. In first disk group (RAID 6) we have one virtual disk already configured. We need to extend it's capacity - we bought 4 SAS disks and I am wondering whether we can safely extend this capacity during normal business hours?
When I right click on the disk group I can choose "Add Physical Disks (Capacity) ..."
or when I click on Virtual disk I can choose "Increase capacity"
Which option should I use?

Hello bart.belko,
Yes you can extend your virtual disk during business hours as the extending is a very low priority. Now yes you are correct that you can extend it by either the disk group or the virtual disk. The difference in the two are that if you extend the disk group then any virtual disk in the disk group you can extend the space. When you extend the Virtual disk you are just extending that virtual disk. In my opinion since you are just looking to extend a single virtual disk then I would just extend the virtual disk & not the disk group.
