Extend Memory Size and merging new drives into a Previous single drive
Hello there
We have NAS Dell Power Vault NX3200 where six external SATA hard drives are fixed and configured RAID 5 to a single Partition of 9 TB previous
Now we want to Increase the drive size, so we purchased another 6 *2TB drive and inserted into NAS of Empty Blocks
and my question is how to merge the newly purchased external drives and make online and upgrade as a same Single Drive without erasing any data
Thank in Advance

Hello sekhar4452,
What you will need to do is to first install the hard drives into the caddies for your NX3200. Then you will want to insert the new drives & wait till they come online & ready. Once drives are online then what you will need to do is to is to go into the controller bios of the PERC card and you should see your virtual disk that have been created before already. You will need to select the drives that you inserted into the empty hard drives blanks & add them to the correct raid array that you want to. Once the drives have been added to the raid array then you will need to go into windows & extend the volume and the new space should be seen. Here is also a link to the administrator guide for your NX 3200. Here is the link for both 2012 & 2008 windows.
