You should download the CLI guide (located on the support site where the firmware is downloaded - select the version currently installed on your arrays).
you can also install the EqualLogic PowerShell cmdlets (located on the HIT download page).
a simple example you would telnet/ssh to the array member and issue the show command at the group name prompt.
You would have to capture the output in your telnet/ssh program to save the data.

In order to add any volume to a storage pool, there must be at least one array member in the pool. Look at your output, you do not have any member in the testpool.
Regarding volumes spanning multi-members in the same pool, yes, this is expected. This is part of the the Capaccity Load Balance (CLB).
I have attached the most recent tech report on how the three different load balancers work (Network, CLB and APLB).

I have upgraded my ps 6000 from 6.0.11 to 7.1.7. after that when I reset my device I get following
CLI> reset
% Error - Object does not exist
% Error - Object does not exist
Warning: This command resets an array to the factory
defaults (original condition). The result is the
elimination of all group and volume configuration
information and any volume data residing on the array.
It is strongly recommended that you not reset a running
array. Instead, use the delete member command which moves
data from this array to other arrays and automatically
resets this array.
