DR4000 Replication
We have a DR4000 which gets Veeame backups sent to it. My question is, is it possible to have another co located DR4000 that the first appiance could replicate to over a WAN link?
Is there any built in software on the DR4000 that can facilitate this or can someone suggest a 3rd party software solution such as Rsync..
Cheers

Hello Avon_7,
Yes you can replicate from one DR4000 to another. What you need to be aware of is that Replication on the Dell DR4000 is a container level operation. Replication between containers is a one to one relationship, a container can only replicate with another single container on a different DR4000. DR4000 replication occurs on TCP/IP ports 9904, 9911, 9915 and 9916, these ports can not be changed. No special licensing is required for the DR4000 replication feature. Here is a link to the manual & if you look on page 83 it shows you how to setup the replication. ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_equallogic/dell-dr4000_Administrator%20Guide_EN-US.pdf
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I have a question about DR4000 bonding: FW 1.1.1.0 permit to bond 2x1GB and 2x10GB NICs, but 2.0.0.0 only 2x10GB, LOM are disabled. My customer has 1GB network. Why should I upgrade, if I will lose 2GB of bandwidth?
