Disk slot on MD1200 shows empty, even though there is a disk in it

I had a failed disk in my Raid 5 + hot spare array. The disk showed offline. The disk was replaced, no lights are on, power or activity. and the slot on the report shows it is empty. The the physical disk does not show up on the list of disks.

Had a 2nd disk sent and it has the same issue. - No lights, report shows empty.

I tried the cmdline to to put the disk online, but it says that it is not a valid slot.

Hello Paul Sk,

The drives that you inserted into your MD1200 were they Dell Drives with dell Part# on them? If not then that is the reason why the drives are not seen. If the drives do have a dell part# on them then we may need to get a log from the MD so that we can see why the drives are not being seen. Here is a link to the interoperability guide with some of the drives listed on page 3 that are supported with the MD1200. http://downloads.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_powervault/powervault-md1200_Reference%20Guide_en-us.pdf
