Dell NX300 PERC6/i 4TB Hard Drive Upgrade
I'm trying to upgrade to 4TB Hard Disks but all four (from different sources) that I have tried read as Failed.
The drives are: Seagate Constellation ES.3 ST4000NM0023 4TB 7200 RPM 128MB Cache SAS 6Gb/s 3.5" Enterprise Internal Hard Drive
Could this be a compatibility issue? The NX300 is suppose to support 4TB drives and I have used other Constellation ES.3 drives in Dell servers in the past.
Any ideas?

Do you know what controller you have in your NX300? I found a link that has some info when it comes to support for larger drives.
http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/extras/w/wiki/2837.hdd-support-for-2-5tb-3tb-drives-and-beyond.aspx
I would recommend that you take a look at this and please let me know if you have any more questions or concerns.

OK, Thanks. I'm reading through the link now. Not sure of the controller. Here is the configuration when new:

It looks like the issue you are running into is that the Perc 6/i controller will not see drives larger then 2TB. You would need like the PERC H700/H800 RAID Controller. If you would like I can get a quote set up and sent out to you so you would know what you are looking at for the controller you need.

Have you had a chance to look at the quote that I sent over to your email account? Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
