Dell MD3220 Versus EqualLogic PS4100X
Just want to see if anyone has a good comparison between the MD3220 and the PS4100X since I am only deploying 2 servers and don't expect to grow past four servers. I can get 6Gbs SAS HBAs on the MD3220 versus just the GB on the PS4100X. My workload is not very large and I have seen some folks having high latency on the PS4100X when copying large files within VMware on the same enclosure.
I will be just connecting two ESX hosts to the array but will be using Dell AppAssure as well and that will be on the same storage unit. Let me know what folks think.

Hi Dennis, if you're only planning to use 2 Hosts, the MD would be a better bang for your buck, IMO. Keep in mind that you really need to store your AppAssure Repository somewhere other than the SAN if the data you're backing up is also on the SAN. If both live on the SAN and it suffers a catastrophic loss from an itchy trigger finger, natural disaster, etc., then all your data "and" backups are gone.
