Block Change Tracking File (BCTF)
Hello:
Excellent article
Section 4.2.1 "Incremental backups will scan all blocks to determine what has been midified"... This is not required if you are using the BCTF file in Oracle11g....did you use the BCTF file in your tests?
did you perform any incremental backups after you snapped the prod database to the backup server?
we have a 2TB database and we are snapping everyday but we now want to snap a LEVEL-0 once every 2 weeks and instead perform CUMULATIVE INCREMENTALS everyday. so that our recovery would be level-0 followed by applying the 1-cumulative incremental and then the redologs. have you done this on your BACKUP server? what were the results?
