Additional HDD for Laptop

Recently bought an Inspiron 15 Series 3000, model is 3542. It comes with Windows 8.1

As I don't generally use windows (use Ubuntu), I want to add an internal hard drive, to reinstall windows on.

Then I can use the primary drive for Ubuntu/Linux.

I have searched the Dell site for a compatible HDD for this Laptop, but can't find one as yet. Can someone please advise what are the compatible HDD's for this laptop, and please provide a link to purchase on the Australian Dell site.

I didn't get any media, however Dell support advised that I can purchase the media for Windows 8.1, by telephoning Dell.

I notice the BIOS is UEFI, so that's a minor annoyance. Can I simply install win 8.1 from the media, after I format the HDD that is now present on the laptop (Drive #1) ?  Are there any "gotcha's" or hooks, etc, that will prevent me from running Win 8.1 on the secondary drive ?

I will use the GRUB boot loader to select which partition to boot to.
