300GB 10K 2.5" SAS Drives will not extract from server
This T320 is brand new with a DELL installed server 2012 R2 Essentials.
Server has an 8 drive Hot plug back place with H710 RAID card.
After pushing the button on the drive caddy, and pulling the lever, each drive moves only a few mm before binding after just disconnecting from the SAS port. The server runs fine, but if a drive does at some point fail, I need t be able to replace it. I think maybe some of the screws that hold the 2.5" - 3.5" drive adapter to the caddy might be snagging on the back plane. I'm guessing a Dell tech will need to come out and replace the hot plug cage,
Anyone have an idea of how I might remove the drives?

I have experienced this issue.
When you pull the lever it needs to release at the bottom of the unit. If this is happening and you cannot remove the drive then something else is stuck. If the lever is not releasing fully then it is being caught on the hinge and you can attempt to reseat the drive and then pull the lever down a bit harder.
IF the lever is NOT being caught on the bottom hinge and the driver has been disconnected from the SAS port then you can push down on the lever while trying to yank the drive out of the bay. The drive cannot be physically damaged at this point as it is disconnected. If you feel that a decent amount of force is not helping the situation then do not proceed. It is usually the lever hinge that gets caught and causes this issue.
