Hello,

No volumes are deleted automatically.  If you delete a volume it goes to the recovery bin.  In time or manually it will be purged.  There is no recovery after that point.

Hello,

The only way a "volume" would be auto deleted is if you were actually using a snapshot not the volume. Know as the 'base' volume.  If you bring a snapshot online and connect to it, you can use it like a normal drive.  If you run out of snapshot reserve then the snapshot will be deleted and taken offline.   Later firmware help prevent this but you are running firmware releases Sept 2012!

If you look at any deleted volume messages and they have a date and time added the volume name, then you know that's a snapshot, not a base volume.

 Regards,

Yes, there is. But you have to stop running server immediatly and provide drives or clones to a data recovery firm like our.

Hello Dr. Kiev,

This array has failing drives, is degraded and lost blocks in the RAIDset and volumes.  All of which must be taken care of.  Additionally it is low on free space. So very likely the blocks from the deleted volume have been reused.

A question for you.  Do you provide a money back guarantee if you fail?  Since he has other failing drives, firmware that's about 8 years old, his best option is resolve the cache issues, get good drives in there to get a stable RAIDset.  Then ideally convert to RAID6.  the customer also has no backups.  So preserving what is there now is IMO best option.  Trying to modify internal mechanisms can cause total loss of data

In his case if he stopped running server immediatly when he found volume is lost, and that "free space" wasn't reused, the data still in there.

EQL  has two blocks level distributing tables (one is actual another is previous) , they are rotating/ovewriting after some significant changes (like deleting creating volumes for example) , so second one is always backup one. This is chance to get "previsue" version of adressed volumes.

I am not sure is it possible to rollback with eql capabilities , but with 3d party software , it is possible to try.

Regarding "money back guarantee", we have a policy: No data No fee .;)
