Virtual Storage Manager for ESXi 7.0
We think of upgrading from ESXi/vCenter 6.5 to 7.0
Will the Virtual Storage Manager still work? As it is still Flash based?
If not is there another tool/way to go?
Thanks Marcel

Hello,
No, VSM will NOT work with ESXi v7.x. Since the flash based GUI has been completely removed and VSM requires that interface.
Make sure you are NOT using Virtual Volumes as you would lose management of those as well.
You will have to do snapshot and replicaiton schedules on the EQL group and manually add/remove/resize storage with ESXi v7.x.

Don

Hi @dwilliam62
Oh ok Will there be a replacement for Virtual Storage Manager? Or it will be depreciated as EqualLogic will be depreciated soon?

Hello,
There are no announced plans to replace VSM or make it compatible with ESXi v7.x. The Dell PS Series is no longer sold or manufactured.
